When I was little
Just a small tot
I counted the times
To sleep and get up
Leading up to
Christmas morn
Getting to open
A new advent door
Then my sisters
Had their kids
I got to watch
New tots make their wish
A new generation
Of kids to excite
Counting the days
Counting the nights
We’ve all grown up
And stopped counting days
But our family is bigger
In so many ways
Making biscotti
And rice krispy treats
To take to our family
For holiday sweets
And although all
The babies
Are now fully grown
Our gathering
Is still filled
With magic and warmth
I liked your Christmas poem. It brought memories. Thank you.
Dad
